Director Identity Verification

From 18 November 2025, all UK company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) must verify their identity with Companies House. This is part of new government reforms to improve transparency and prevent fraud.

FOM-UK is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP). ACSPs are entities authorised by Companies House to carry out identity checks on their behalf.

When is verification required?

From 18 November 2025:

• New directors must verify before appointment or incorporation

• Existing directors must verify within 12 months, by the date of their next Confirmation Statement after 18 November 2025

• New individual PSCs must verify within the first 14 days of being added to the register

• Existing individuals PSCs must verify within the first 14 days of their birth month following 18 November 2025

• A relevant officer (any registered director) of new corporate PSCs must verify their identity within 14 days of the PSC being registered at Companies House

• A relevant officer (any registered director) of existing corporate PSCs must verify their identity within 12 months, by the date of their next Confirmation Statement after 18 November 2025
